AM Monday-Friday Structural Steel CNC Beam Line/CNC Drill Line Operator Job Summary:

The CNC Beam Line Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring CNC-controlled beam/drill line equipment used to process structural steel components. This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC beam line/drill line machinery
• Load and unload structural steel beams (I-beams, H-beams, channels, angles)
• Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and CNC programs
• Verify part dimensions, hole locations, and quality specifications
• Perform routine machine checks and basic maintenance
• Troubleshoot minor machine or program issues
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with safety policies
• Communicate production issues or discrepancies to supervisors

Requirements:

• Previous experience operating CNC beam line or drill line equipment preferred
• Ability to read blueprints and tape measures accurately
• Knowledge of structural steel fabrication processes
• Basic computer and CNC control knowledge
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail and safety

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with Peddinghaus, Ficep, Voortman, or similar beam line equipment
• Manufacturing or structural steel shop experience

Work Environment:

• Industrial manufacturing setting
• Exposure to noise, dust, and heavy materials; PPE required at all times
