Job Description

We're Hiring:
CAD Designer & CNC OperatorWe are a dynamic fabrication shop in the Salt Lake Valley that turns innovative concepts into high-quality finished products. We're looking for a skilled CAD Designer / CNC Operator to join our team.

In this role, you will design in CAD for custom projects such as fences, gates, railings, and other architectural/structural metalwork that we implement in the shop. You'll also set up, program, and operate a variety of CNC and fabrication equipment including waterjet, press brakes, band saws, and Hebo machines (embossing, drilling, end forging, etc.). About the Role You'll create designs in CAD, then bring them to life by setting up and running CNC machines to cut, shape, and finish materials such as metal and plastic. Working from blueprints, drawings, and your own CAD files, you'll produce precision parts while maintaining high quality standards in a fast-paced, hands-on shop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design custom projects in CAD for fences, gates, railings, and other fabrication work Set up and operate CNC machines for production runs (waterjet, press brakes, etc.) Review blueprints, drawings, and CAD files to determine setups, machine sequences, and specifications Load, and test programs; select proper tooling, fixtures, and consumables Use precision measuring instruments to verify parts meet required tolerances Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines Troubleshoot malfunctions and make adjustments to ensure quality output Safely handle large/heavy metal sheets and parts (forklift operation as needed) Load/unload materials and keep accurate production and maintenance records Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Qualifications:
Required:
2 years CAD experience + 1 year CNC operation experience
Preferred:
2+ years on Waterjet Proficiency with 2D and 3D programming and design software Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints Solid mechanical aptitude, good math skills, and high attention to detail Computer savvy with a basic understanding of computer programming Ability to work independently or as part of a team with great concentration and precision Some shop, building trade, or warehouse experience preferred Clean background check and reliable transportation required

$22.00 - $32.00 per hour
