CNC Lathe Operator on the second shift, working either from 3pm to 11pm or 4pm to 12am. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate state-of-the-art CNC lathes, ensuring precision machining of complex parts. You will be instrumental in producing high-quality components by setting up, programming, and maintaining CNC lathes, contributing directly to our manufacturing excellence. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC lathe machines, including programming and troubleshooting Fanuc control systems Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and CAD/CAM files to ensure accurate machining processes Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify part dimensions Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and tooling to maintain optimal performance Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for machining operations while adhering to safety standards Conduct quality checks using precision instruments like dial indicators and bore gauges to ensure parts meet specifications Maintain detailed documentation of production runs, machine settings, and inspection results for quality assurance Experience Proven experience operating CNC lathes or milling machines in a manufacturing environment Strong understanding of CNC programming languages such as G-code or Fanuc controls Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus Hands-on experience with CAD software like SolidWorks or general CAD/CAM programming is desirable Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills for precise measurements and calculations Ability to use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques as needed Prior exposure to lean manufacturing principles and plastics injection molding processes is advantageous This role invites energetic professionals who are detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and eager to grow their expertise in CNC machining.
