CNC Plasma Operator/ Burn Table Operator

• Schofield, WI Custom Steel Incorporated is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Plasma Operator to run cnc plasma burn table and cnc pipe to join our team.

We specialize in manufacturing overhead bridge cranes and structural steel fabrication, serving industrial and commercial customers across Central Wisconsin. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience, a strong understanding of fabrication processes, and a commitment to safety and precision. This role involves the setup, operation, and maintenance of the AKS burn table and Dragon pipe machine to process structural steel components to exact specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate the AKS Burn Table and Dragon Pipe Processor to cut, drill, and mill structural steel components according to shop drawings and specifications Interpret blueprints, CAD files, and work orders to determine machine operations and production requirements Load raw materials and position steel beams using overhead cranes or forklifts as needed Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality and minimize downtime Inspect finished parts for accuracy using measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, squares, etc.) Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machines Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with company safety and housekeeping standards Collaborate with engineering, fabrication, and quality teams to improve workflow and part accuracy

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of steel fabrication processes Familiarity with structural steel standards (AISC, ASTM) Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings Proficiency in using basic measuring tools and inspection equipment Comfortable operating cranes and forklifts Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work Strong communication and organizational skills Willingness to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods Comfortable working in a fabrication shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
