Job Description

CNC Machine Operator - Job DescriptionA CNC Machine Operator is responsible for operating Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machinery to manufacture precision parts and components according to engineering specifications. This position ensures quality production, maintains equipment performance, and follows all safety and manufacturing standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate CNC mills, lathes, routers, and other computer-controlled machinery. Load raw materials and unload finished parts from machines. Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings. Monitor machine operations to ensure parts meet quality and dimensional specifications. Perform routine quality inspections using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Make minor machine adjustments and tool changes as needed. Troubleshoot basic machine and production issues. Complete production reports and maintain accurate records. Follow all safety procedures and company policies. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
Previous CNC machine operation experience preferred. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. Experience using precision measuring instruments. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Basic math and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, moving parts, and industrial noise. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift. Overtime may be required based on production schedules.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with CNC mills, lathes, machining centers, or automated manufacturing equipment. Knowledge of G-Code and machine programming is a plus. Forklift or material handling experience is beneficial. Understanding of lean manufacturing and quality control processes.
