Job Summary We're looking for a highly skilled 5-Axis CNC Machinist & Programmer who can mastermind intricate parts using advanced CAM software and bring them to life on our 5-axis mills, lathes, hybrid lathe , wire EDMs, and sinker EDMs. Our operations utilize Esprit Edge. This role is perfect for a detail-obsessed problem-solver who loves high-precision machining, optimizing toolpaths for efficiency, and delivering parts that impress our clients. You'll be a key player on our production floor, collaborating with engineers and designers to tackle challenging projects that demand both technical prowess and creative flair. Key Responsibilities Program Like a
Pro:
Develop and optimize complex 5-axis CNC programs using Esprit Edge, ensuring seamless integration from CAD models to machined components. Simulate, verify, and refine toolpaths to minimize cycle times and maximize quality.
Machine Mastery:
Set up, operate, and troubleshoot 5-axis CNC mills, machining materials such as titanium, aluminum, stainless steel, Inconel and other exotics. Perform in-process inspections to maintain tolerances as tight as ±0.0002 inches.
Blueprint Wizardry:
Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, and 3D models to plan machining strategies that translate concepts into high-performance components.
Process Innovation:
Collaborate with the team to improve workflows, implement lean manufacturing practices, and integrate advanced features like high-speed machining or adaptive control.
Quality Champion:
Conduct first-article inspections, maintain machine tools, and ensure compliance with
ISO/AS9100
standards. Troubleshoot issues on the fly to keep production on schedule.
Mentorship:
Share your expertise in CAM programming (Esprit) with junior machinists, helping to elevate the team's skills and efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills Experience That Counts:
3+ years as a CNC machinist with proven expertise in 5-axis programming and operations. Mastery of Esprit Edge is preferred.
Technical Toolkit:
Strong knowledge of CNC controls (mazatrol), tooling strategies, and CAD/CAM integration. Experience with wire EDM (Electrical Discharge Machine) programming and operation is also a plus.
Education Edge:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in machining technology or related field preferred. Trade school certifications or equivalent are a bonus. Soft Skills for
