Responsibilities for CNC Programmer/Machinist Read technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with these blueprints. Use computer software to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly Operate CNC lathe &/or mill on a daily basis Consider tools required to cut particular materials and program machines accordingly Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and sharpening Train new employees on how to properly operate CNC machines and programs Operate manual machines when the process cannot be fully complete via CNC Perform other shop related task daily to ensure efficient work flow Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Good math skills Must have good problem solving skills. Must have good organizational and planning skills. Must be mechanically inclined. Knowledge of metal shop work. Must have the ability to read blueprints. Knowledge of safety measures pertinent to each job assignment. Should have a positive and professional attitude Qualifications for CNC Programmer/Machinist Associates degree in CNC programming or accredited technical school certification Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is required Previous experience programming and operating CNC machines is required Capable of standing for extended periods of time Ability to lift up to 25 pounds for short periods of time
