Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled manufacturing professional responsible for creating, optimizing, and overseeing CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs used to machine parts and components with precision. The position develops, tests, and improves CNC programs for complex parts, ensuring high precision, efficiency, and quality. This role often includes mentoring junior programmers and collaborating with engineering and production teams. Key Responsibilities Create and optimize CNC programs using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and blueprints Select appropriate tooling, cutting strategies, and machining parameters Set up and prove out new jobs on CNC machines (mills, lathes, multi-axis) Troubleshoot machining issues and improve cycle times Ensure parts meet quality standards and tolerances Collaborate with design engineers and machinists to improve manufacturability Maintain documentation for programs, setups, and processes Train and mentor junior CNC programmers and operators Implement continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives Required Skills & Qualifications Strong experience with CNC programming (typically 5-10+ years) Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Siemens NX, Fusion 360) Deep understanding of G-code and M-code Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T Knowledge of tooling, materials, feeds, and speeds Experience with multi-axis machining (3, 4, and 5-axis preferred) Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Familiarity with quality control processes and inspection tools Education & Experience Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (preferred) Equivalent hands-on experience often accepted Certifications (e.g., NIMS) are a plus Experience with Stiles machines and software (iX and WoodWOP) Work Environment Manufacturing or machine shop setting May involve standing for long periods and working near machinery Collaboration with cross-functional teams (engineering, QA, production) Why Join Our Firm?
