Job Description

Position:
CNC Milling Mastercam Programmer / Setup / Planner Jaco is a well established, precision machined parts manufacture supplying the Aerospace and Defense industries with close tolerance machined parts. Our parts support many US Aerospace and Defense systems. We are seeking a CNC programmer / Planner to join our team. Our firm is well-established, stable and growing. We have a lot of work and this is full time permanent position. This position is ideal for that ambitious person wishing to help grow our company towards success. Responsibilities and Duties The following roles for this position include: CNC Mill Programmer for 3,4,5 axis, Mills, vertical and Horizontal and 5 axis mills. (if experienced) CNC Lathe Programmer, multi spindle, live tooling experience desired Planning / Machine Times Estimation Tooling and holding fixture design Hands on setting up mills, or working with the shop production staff, to get the created CNC program producing a quality part. Making shop aid sketches for roughing and 2nd ops
Duties:
Review and interpret customer supplied 2D drawings, parts lists, or customer furnished 3D CAD models for all required part features. Or if needed create models or machine program from existing 2D drawings, into a computer aided/automated manufacturing (CAM) program for specific Mills using Mastercam. Define, develop and modify existing CNC programs utilizing Mastercam for 3, 3+ rotary, and true 5 axis milling. Lathe programming is helpful too but not a requirement. Be able to investigate customer supplied CAD models with the help of Mastercam or SolidWorks, or CATIA and also to design tooling and setup sheets. Some hands on day to day supporting the machinists to assist with setting up the machine: loading the program, validating the program, tooling, part holding and fixturing, tool holders and cutter selection and configuration. Assisting as necessary in positive constructive manner, in a team environment to realize the production and quality objectives. Maintain and is responsible for organizing the storage of all 3D Model libraries, CNC programs, created sketches, and tooling records for production programs in compliance with customer and company procedures.
Other Duties:
Assist with reviewing of customer drawings or CAD models to provide approximate machining time estimates for setup, for tooling and per part for machining times. Assist the planning and production teams to recommend best practices for machining new run or repeat parts; e.g. suggest part holding and tooling best methods, fine tune machining processes. Provide input to the required machining steps to make a quality part. Qualifications and Skills General knowledge of both Milling and Lathe machining of aerospace metal grades. Knowledge of tooling, cutters, speeds and feeds for machining various aircraft alloys Must have the ability to read and interpret GD&T engineering drawings. 5 Years minimum experience as a CNC programmer for Mills 3 4, 4+ 5 axis, Lathes 3 axis and Live tooling but lathe experience optional. CNC programmer must demonstrate the ability to interpret mechanical machined parts engineering drawings using GD&T Experience and functional programming with Mastercam writing CNC computer programs. Must know some G code and Fanuc, Siemens Cellos or Mazitrol controls. Solidworks or CATIA modeling experience is helpful and making internal "drawings" as shop aids. Experience converting CATIA files to
IGES, STEP
files. Experience designing tooling, holding fixtures, knowledge of cutting tools, feeds and speeds for aircraft alloys, and heat treated materials. Communicate effectively to give instructions, mentoring and to assist machinists with machine setup and programming. Must have sufficient social skills to work as part of a team to meet production goals. Basic Computer skills, such as email use, MS Excel log completion, network file saving, email. Must be able to work from customer supplied blueprints or models. Be able to edit and proof out programs and to diagnose and rectify program or tooling problems. Estimator experience desired, estimating the time it takes to setup and run a part. US Citizenship or greencard for compliance to ITARS requirements, a US Govt Defense parts manufacturing regulation. Benefits This is a full time position in our air conditioned machine shop, with a dedicated "programming" office. Monday through Thursday, First shift, working four 10s. Overtime is possible. Optional to work 5 eights. Competitive pay based on experience. The listed pay is the starting point. Company paid medical, dental plans with good benefits after 90 days.
