Roberts Precision Engineering is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join our growing team. We are a precision aerospace manufacturing company specializing in complex machined components for the aerospace and defense industries. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience programming 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC machines and a strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing best practices. Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for 3, 4, and 5-axis machining centers using CAD/CAM software.
• Analyze engineering drawings, models, specifications, and customer requirements to determine machining strategies and manufacturing methods.
• Create setup sheets, tool lists, fixture documentation, and other manufacturing support documents.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, workholding methods, feeds, and speeds to maximize efficiency and part quality.
• Design and improve machining fixtures, workholding solutions, and manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure the successful execution of manufacturing operations.
• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to improve productivity and reduce scrap.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on cycle time reduction, cost savings, and quality enhancement.
• Verify CNC programs through simulation software and support first article inspections.
• Maintain compliance with customer specifications, internal procedures, and quality management system requirements.
• Support new product introduction activities and provide technical guidance to machinists and setup personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of programming projects, process improvements, and ongoing work assignments. Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of CNC programming experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
• Strong background in programming 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC machining centers.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, CATIA V5, NX, Fusion 360, or equivalent).
• Experience with Vericut or similar CNC simulation software preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of machining practices, cutting tool selection, feeds and speeds, and workholding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications.
• Fixture design and process development experience preferred.
• Aerospace and defense manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
