Job Description

Flight Works, Inc., a growing OEM of advanced components for several major markets (including aerospace and medical), seeks a creative, dedicated CNC programmer/machinist with a drive for excellence and a strong work ethic. The company is located on Irvine, CA, and the position provides an opportunity to be exposed to a challenging, fast-paced work environment, programming multiple CNC machines - including 3, 4, and 5-axis mills, lathes, and a dual spindle mill-turn machine - to produce components for unique and cutting-edge applications. Job Description and Responsibilities Primarily responsible for creating CNC programs, setting up machines, and verifying that programs meet precise drawing specifications. Duties include developing programs for both small, one-off parts and multi-part batch production runs varying complexity. Responsibilities also include operating and maintaining CNC machines after setup. The role may also require performing deburring, cleaning, and other finishing processes, while part inspection using the appropriate tools is mandatory. Desired Qualifications and Skills Ability to plan and execute machine operations efficiently. Minimum of two year's experience in CNC machining or equivalent apprenticeship. Strong knowledge of G-code and M-code; able to read and write proficiently. Familiarity with
HAAS CNC
machines. CAM experience, preferably with CamWorks or Mastercam software. SolidWorks experience is a plus, training available for the right candidate. Ability to design work holding and create effective setups using work offsets, tool offsets, tool changes, probe routines, etc., for maximum efficiency. Basic understanding of common metals and materials, along with relevant machining requirements. Proficient with common inspection tools. (micrometers, calipers, etc.) Ability to read and interpret component drawings, including geometric tolerances and specifications. Familiarity with metric and imperial units a plus. Must be willing and able to follow verbal and written instructions, including detailed operation task lists.
