CNC Programmer /
Setup Machinist Location:
Livermore, CA Pay:
$43.00-$50.00 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, typically 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. with flexibility available About the Role Exacta-Tech is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Setup Machinist to program, set up, and operate CNC vertical mills for prototype, custom, and small-batch production. The ideal candidate can take a part from blueprint to finished product while maintaining quality and efficiency throughout the machining process. Mastercam experience is preferred; however, experienced machinists with a strong desire to learn Mastercam are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Program, set up, and operate CNC vertical mills. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T specifications. Select tooling, fixtures, workholding methods, speeds, and feeds. Create, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs using Mastercam or similar CAD/CAM software. Set tool offsets and work offsets (G54-G59). Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections. Troubleshoot machining, programming, tooling, and quality issues. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Qualifications 3-5 years of CNC machining experience preferred. Experience with CNC setup and operation. Ability to read blueprints and understand machining processes. Knowledge of G-code, M-code, tool offsets, and work offsets. Experience using precision measuring instruments. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects. Preferred Qualifications Mastercam experience. Haas controls and Haas vertical mills. 3-axis and 5-axis machining experience. Prototype, custom-part, or small-batch manufacturing experience. CAD/CAM or CNC machining certifications.

Pay Details:
