This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge manufacturing projects by supporting design development, technical operations, and process optimization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in CAD/CAM software, machining processes, and mechanical principles, combined with a passion for creativity and precision. As a key team member, you will collaborate closely with engineers and production staff to bring ideas to life through detailed designs and technical support, all while gaining valuable industry experience in additive manufacturing and machining technologies. Responsibilities Assist in designing 3D models and prototypes using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and CATIA, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability. Support CNC programming tasks for milling machines, lathes, and other machining equipment, incorporating GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards. Prepare detailed schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings for manufacturing processes using blueprint reading skills. Operate and troubleshoot CNC equipment including CNC lathes and milling machines, ensuring optimal performance and precision. Conduct measurements with precision instruments such as bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and bore gauges to verify component dimensions. Assist in setting up tooling, fixtures, and jigs for machining operations while adhering to lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste. Support quality control activities by inspecting parts with precision measuring instruments and interpreting schematics to ensure specifications are met. Experience Basic understanding of CNC machinery including CNC milling machines and CNC lathes. Familiarity with CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA is highly desirable. Knowledge of machining processes including electrical discharge machining (EDM) and the use of precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines. Experience reading blueprints and schematics accurately within a manufacturing environment. Mechanical knowledge related to tooling setup, geometry considerations, and basic electrical or schematic diagrams is a plus. Prior exposure to lean manufacturing practices or continuous improvement initiatives is advantageous but not required. Strong math skills with an emphasis on geometry and measurement calculations will support success in this role. Join us in shaping the future of additive manufacturing!
