Our shop runs a mix of prototype and short-run production work, with advanced vertical, horizontal, and 5-axis mills. We're looking for a driven CNC Programmer/Machinist who takes pride in their work, thrives in a collaborative environment, and has a strong understanding of both programming and hands-on machining.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer/Machinist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys seeing the full process through — from concept to finished part. You'll be responsible for programming parts using Mastercam , determining fixturing and tooling strategies, creating setup sheets, and communicating with team members to ensure jobs run smoothly and efficiently. When programming work is light, you will transition to hands-on machining, setting up and running the very parts you've programmed. This position requires a detail-oriented, adaptable machinist who can handle both prototypes and small-batch production runs.

Key Responsibilities:

Review engineering prints and models to determine the most efficient machining process. Select appropriate tooling and design fixturing strategies for both prototype and production jobs. Program parts using Mastercam for vertical, horizontal, and 5-axis mills. Create clear, organized setup sheets for machine operators. Communicate with team members to ensure required tooling, fixtures, and materials are ready before production starts. Identify and account for special callouts such as critical tolerances, surface finishes, or material requirements. Set up, operate, and run CNC machines as needed, especially when programming workload is low. Continuously look for opportunities to improve production efficiency through optimized setups and fixturing. Work collaboratively with shop leadership to meet deadlines and maintain high quality standards.

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience as a CNC programmer and machinist (prototypes and production). Strong proficiency with Mastercam (5-axis programming experience preferred). Hands-on experience setting up and running vertical, horizontal, and 5-axis mills. Specifically Haas, Matsuura, Enshu, and Mori Seiki using Fanuc control . Solid understanding of tooling selection and fixture design for efficiency and repeatability. Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Self-motivated, organized, and adaptable to changing priorities.
