Overview Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Programmer and play a vital role in creating precision-engineered components using advanced CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining technology. The ideal candidate has experience with Lathes, Mills, and Wire. The ideal candidate strikes the balance between having programs that work without modification and taking feedback from machinists on how to optimize. Responsibilities Develop and write CNC programs utilizing CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as SolidWorks, Fusion360, MasterCAM and Espri to produce detailed machining instructions. Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate manufacturing processes. Set up CNC machining tools and fixtures on machines including CNC lathes, milling machines, and 5-axis CNC machines for optimal operation. Select appropriate tooling and cutting parameters based on material type, geometry, and machining requirements to maximize efficiency and precision. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to verify part accuracy against specifications. Program CNC machinery with a focus on lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve workflow productivity. Troubleshoot machining issues related to geometry, tooling wear, or machine calibration; perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment to ensure consistent performance. Requirements Proven experience with CNC programming for milling and turning operations using Fanuc controls or similar systems. Strong proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks; experience with CAM software for programming is essential. Knowledge of mechanical blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and schematic interpretation for accurate part fabrication. Familiarity with various machining tools including CNC tooling, bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and measurement instruments for quality control. Mechanical knowledge of metal machining processes including CNC lathe operations, 5-axis CNC machining, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and general machining techniques. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics accurately while applying geometric principles during programming. Understanding of lean manufacturing practices to streamline operations while maintaining high quality standards. Excellent math skills necessary for precise measurement calculations and program adjustments.
