Job Description

Our client is a trusted partner in architectural woodworking. From casework and architectural millwork to panel processing, CNC milling, edge banding, assembly, and finishing, their expertise spans every detail of woodworking.
Job Summary:
The CNC Programmer / Detailer supports production by translating shop drawings into accurate parts lists, material pull slips, and packing documentation while creating and managing CNC programs for custom architectural woodworking and casework. This role works closely with shop personnel to ensure parts are machined correctly and efficiently, supporting smooth assembly and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, understands shop workflows, and is confident programming CNC processes using AutoCAD and Microvellum.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Generate manual and electronic parts lists from shop drawings Develop, edit, and manage custom CNC programs using AutoCAD and Microvellum to support casework and architectural millwork production Create and maintain detailed material pull slips, cut lists, and packing lists to support shop personnel and shipping/receiving Assign CNC-coded machining processes to parts, jigs, and fixtures as needed to support shop personnel during assembly Review shop drawings for completeness and accuracy; identify missing information, conflicts, or potential production issues and communicate needed clarifications Translate design intent and shop drawings into practical machining strategies, including tooling paths, drilling patterns, dadoes, pockets, and edge preparation Support the shop floor by troubleshooting CNC program issues, making revisions, and helping resolve fit/assembly problems Coordinate with production, engineering/detailing, and shop leadership to prioritize work and meet production schedules Follow company safety policies and support safe operation of CNC equipment and related shop processes
Requirements:
3+ years of CNC programming experience in millwork environment. AutoCAD and Microvellum experience (must have) Ability to read and interpret shop drawings Experience generating parts lists (manual and electronic) from shop drawings Experience producing material pull slips, cut lists, and/or packing lists to support shop production and shipping/receiving Experience creating custom CNC programs and assigning machining processes to parts, jigs, and fixtures Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications
