CNC Programmer / Setup Machinist Putnam, CT 06260
Full-time Full-time Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Setup Machinist to support our machining operations team. This position requires a highly skilled, hands-on professional with strong programming experience. The ideal candidate will have experience programming, setting up and operating CNC lathes with live tooling. Candidates who are detail-oriented, capable of working independently and committed to producing high-quality precision components in our fast paced, clean, modern manufacturing environment should apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Program multi-axis/multi-spindle CNC lathes with live tooling Develop and optimize CNC programs to improve tool paths, cycle times and machining efficiency Select tooling, set offsets and adjust programs for optimal performance Set up and operate CNC equipment to produce precision components Maintain tight tolerances and ensure part quality through in-process inspection using precision measuring instruments Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary program or tooling adjustments Read and interpret blueprints to verify machined parts meet specifications Collaborate with team members to improve processes and efficiency
Qualifications:
Previous experience with CNC lathes using live tooling Strong knowledge of CNC programming (G/M code, CAM software such as Mastercam, Esprit, etc.) Experience with CNC machine setup Strong blueprint reading skills Experience using precision measuring instruments Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Strong attention to detail Mori Seiki experience a plus
