Job Description

CNC Programmer & Setup Specialist (Mill-Turn & Swiss)
Hours:
Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM We are seeking a versatile CNC Programmer and Setup Specialist to drive production on our high-end multi-axis equipment. This "turn-key" role requires an expert who can take complex parts from model to finished product. You will lead the programming for our Okuma Mill-Turn centers using Matercam and our Tsugami Swiss-type lathes using Autodesk PartMaker.
Key Responsibilities:
Okuma Mill-Turn (Mastercam): Develop 4 and 5-axis programs for Okuma Multus/Genos series. Manage multi-stream synchronization, pinch turning, and B-axis milling operations within the Mastercam Mill-Turn environment. Tsugami Swiss (PartMaker): Create optimized multi-path programs for Tsugami sliding headstock lathes. Utilize PartMaker's specialized Swiss modules to handle main/sub-spindle synchronization and complex live tooling.
Advanced Setup:
Execute full mechanical setups, including tool offsets, work holding configuration, and initial part prove-outs.
Optimization:
Refine G-code and CAM strategies to reduce cycle times and maximize tool life in a high-tolerance environment (+/-.0002").
Problem Solving:
Troubleshoot complex machining issues, from OSP control alarms to refined surface finish requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Software Mastery:
5+ years of daily experience with both Mastercam (Mill-Turn module) and Autodesk PartMaker.
Machine Expertise:
Deep technical knowledge of Okuma OSP controls and Tsugami Swiss platforms.
Technical Skills:
Mastery of GD&T, blueprint, and advanced tooling selection (thread whirling, high-pressure coolant, etc.)
