Responsibilities:
- Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs using Virtual Gibbs / GibbsCAM software, including complex indexing for CNC Mills.
- Set up CNC Milling and CNC Lathe machines; run production parts as needed.
- Perform first-piece inspection and in-process quality checks to meet strict tolerance requirements (+
- .0002 for Lathes and +
- .0005 for Mills).
- Read, interpret, and apply information from blueprints, CNC programs, and technical work instructions.
- Inspect own machined parts and assist in quality inspections across the department.
- Conduct manual and power-assisted hand finishing processes such as deburring, chamfering, and sanding.
- Recommend process improvements to increase machining efficiency and reduce manufacturing costs. ...
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with internal quality control standards.
- Perform additional machining, programming, or shop support tasks as assigned.
Working hours:
6:00 AM- 2:30
PM Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of cutting tools, tool holders, and machining best practices.
- Hands-on experience working with close tolerances in high-volume production and prototype manufacturing.
Education:
High School Experience:
4-7 yearsQualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Technical degree in Manufacturing Technology, CNC Machining, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of CNC Programming and Operating experience.
- Expert-level blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
- Working knowledge of GibbsCAM software preferred.
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments: micrometers, verniers, calipers, and related tools.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to mentor or instruct others in machining practices.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
