Job Title:
CNC Machinist/Programmer - 1st Shift Job Description We are looking for a lead machinist to run and program CNC lathes and mills on 1st shift in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment. You will work with vertical and horizontal machines, including equipment with live tooling, to produce a wide variety of parts using Fanuc controls and G&M code. This person will be replacing an employee of 40+ years, so candidates that are looking for work for a small and tenured shop that's been in business for over 100 years - please apply! Responsibilities Operate and program CNC lathes and mills, including vertical and horizontal machines and equipment with live tooling. Perform approximately 10-15% programming on a day-to-day basis, using G&M code and Fanuc controls. Set up CNC machines consistently, including installing and adjusting tooling, fixtures, and workholding for each job. Run and monitor production on vertical mill lathes as the primary machine, while also operating HAAS and other CNC machines as needed. Interpret and work from blueprints to produce parts to specification, ensuring dimensional accuracy and quality. Essential Skills Minimum of 3 years of CNC programming experience, with a focus on lathes and mills. Proficiency in operating and programming CNC machines with Fanuc controls. Strong working knowledge of G&M code and the ability to write, edit, and troubleshoot programs. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bettendorf, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
