About Vortec Gear We are a small, family-owned precision manufacturing company with 12 employees and over 18 years in business. We take pride in the craftsmanship and reliability we bring to every project, serving customers across the oil & gas, agriculture, and industrial manufacturing and equipment sectors. Our core expertise is gear cutting for small-run production, with typical lot sizes of around 30 parts — giving us the agility to meet specialized needs with the attention to detail that larger shops can't offer. Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, optimizing, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs using Mastercam for our Doosan Mills along with machine setup. Duties Create and write CNC programs for CNC milling machines using Mastercam . Setup Doosan Mill , with the occasional need to help run the machine if needed. Read technical drawings to create CNC programs. Perform first article inspection to verify accuracy of CNC program and offsets. Ability to troubleshoot toolpaths and offsets. Skills Proficiency in CNC programming for both milling machines with a strong understanding of G-code and Mastercam Solid knowledge of CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks. Understanding of schematics, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T), and technical drawings. Mechanical knowledge related to tooling selection, geometry calculations, and machining processes. Ability to use precision measuring instruments including bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators. Strong math skills essential for accurate programming and measurement interpretation in manufacturing settings. 5-10 years of experience required
