Job Description

Job Overview Essential Functions:
Knowledge of Sheet Metal Layout and Flat Pattern Creation, with forming development capabilities. Ability to layout bend lines for the Press department and identify aids for welding processes. Use of logical thinking and identify shortcuts to the production process. Knowledge of AutoCAD or other CAD software to efficiently create dimension and produce drawings. Staying up to date and aware of all the improvements to the most current version of the CAD/CAM software as each new release provides shortcuts and improvements to reduce errors and improve efficiency. Having a true knowledge of SigmaNEST, Tru-Topps, or other CAM software to nest parts and create CNC code. Programming with detailed efficiency and having an understanding that editing these files properly is of high importance. Improper programming can cause machines to malfunction or be damaged. Most post processors that create CNC code use comma delimited files for the creation of this code. Knowledge of Excel or other spread sheet software to configure and edit machine code settings. Knowledge of machine code is important to keep machines from sitting idle while waiting for programs to be changed. These codes can be fixed in a text editor "on the fly" to keep machines operating efficiently. Knowledge of Saving, Editing, Copying, paper and electronic Documents for File retention and maintenance of the company's proprietary information.
