Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Swiss Programmer / Setup professional to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC Swiss lathes to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise will drive efficiency and excellence in our machining processes, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality parts. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and cutting-edge manufacturing techniques in a fast-paced environment dedicated to continuous improvement. Responsibilities Develop and optimize CNC Swiss lathe programs using CAM software, ensuring efficient machining cycles and high precision. Set up CNC Swiss machines, including tooling selection, fixture installation, and calibration to achieve optimal performance. Interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to produce accurate components. Conduct routine inspections using precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part accuracy. Troubleshoot machining issues promptly by analyzing tool wear, machine parameters, and tooling conditions; implement corrective actions as needed. Maintain detailed documentation of setups, programs, and quality checks to ensure traceability and continuous process improvement. Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work environment conducive to lean manufacturing principles. Skills Proficiency in CNC programming for Swiss lathes using Fanuc controls or similar systems. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and schematic interpretation. Experience with CAM programming software and CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA. Mechanical aptitude with understanding of tooling, geometry, and precision measurement instruments. Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices to optimize workflow and reduce waste. Ability to read schematics and electrical diagrams related to machine operation. Knowledge of CNC milling machines and lathe operations is a plus. Excellent math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machining parameters.
