Full-Time About the Position American Tank Company is seeking a CNC Programmer / CAD-CAM Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for converting AutoCAD drawings into CNC machine programs used to fabricate bolted steel tanks and tank components. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience reading fabrication drawings, and the ability to think through the manufacturing process from drawing to finished product. Responsibilities Convert AutoCAD (DWG) drawings into CNC machine files for punch and plasma cutting equipment. Interpret engineering drawings and create production-ready CNC programs. Utilize CAD/CAM software to generate machine instructions and optimize production. Create and optimize nesting layouts on steel sheets to maximize material utilization. Develop part files for various steel sizes and thicknesses used in tank manufacturing. Work closely with engineering and production personnel to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Learn the operation and capabilities of punch and plasma machines through on-the-job training. Identify manufacturing requirements and transform drawings into practical, producible tank components. Maintain quality standards and ensure all parts meet fabrication requirements. QualificationsRequired Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software. Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings. Strong computer skills and attention to detail. Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Experience with CNC programming or CAD/CAM software. Experience in fabrication, steel manufacturing, or metal processing. Familiarity with nesting software. Understanding of punch press and plasma cutting operations. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone with a manufacturing mindset.
