This role supports production by developing efficient machine programs, optimizing material utilization, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring safe manufacturing practices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Create, modify, and optimize CNC laser cutting programs using CAD/CAM software. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T requirements, and work instructions. Program and operate laser cutting equipment, including setup and troubleshooting. Generate efficient nesting layouts to maximize material utilization and reduce scrap. Select appropriate tooling, cutting parameters, feed rates, and machine settings. Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, or other machining equipment as required. Perform first-piece inspections and verify dimensional accuracy using precision measuring instruments. Troubleshoot programming and machining issues to improve efficiency and quality. Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams on new product introductions and process improvements. Maintain program revisions, machine documentation, and setup records. Comply with all quality, safety, and company procedures. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, throughput, and cost reduction. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 3+ years of experience in laser programming, CNC programming, or precision machining. Proficiency with CAD/CAM software and CNC programming. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications. Knowledge of G-Code and CNC machining principles. Experience using precision inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and comparators. Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications Technical degree or certification in CNC Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field. Experience with Bystronic, Trumpf, Amada, Mazak, or similar laser systems. Experience with nesting software such as SigmaNEST, TruTops, or BySoft. Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and welding processes. NIMS certification or equivalent machining certification. Experience in an ISO 9001 or AS9100 manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work safely around moving machinery and manufacturing equipment.
