Job Description

Atlantic Sintered is a leading manufacturer of powder metal parts for the vehicle, truck, and industrial markets. The company offers a team-based environment with excellent benefits and compensation. We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer or Programming Apprentice for our 220+ employee manufacturing business located in Wrentham, MA. The position has day shift hours and compensation will be based on experience level.
PRIMARY FUNCTION
The CNC Programmer develops programs for machined parts on CNC equipment. Assists with quoting new parts and developing programs on new parts. Also, reviews and modifies existing programs to improve.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following is a brief description of some of the duties and responsibilities (not limited to the following): A. Programs, operates and maintains various CNC Machine centers. B. Reads and understands written work instructions. C. Inspects and installs tooling into machine D. Selects machine tools (inserts, drills taps) E. Visually and dimensionally inspects products produced on machines. F. Performs quality audits of product and records on first piece inspection cards G. Completes production and setup paperwork. H. Makes adjustments on machines. I. Trouble shoots machine problems.
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
The following is a brief description of the technical skills and experience required: A
  • Ability to read and write English. B
  • Ability to write CNC programs C
  • Ability to specify and select machine tools and inserts D
  • Able to work safely around equipment. E
  • Able to learn to use quality measuring tools (mics, indicator, calipers, etc.). F
  • Have good mechanical understanding and comfortable around heavy machinery.
