Job Description

Intermediate CNC Programmer Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Intermediate CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between engineering and the shop floor, creating efficient, error-free programs for 3-axis and 4-axis milling and turning centers. You will be responsible for translating complex blueprints into high-precision parts, optimizing cycle times, and providing setup support to operators.
Key Responsibilities Programming:
Develop, test, and debug CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) for multi-axis machinery.
Setup Optimization:
Create setup sheets, select proper tooling, and define workholding solutions to minimize setup times.
Blueprint Interpretation:
Analyze technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine dimensions, tolerances (GD&T), and machining strategies.
Troubleshooting:
Troubleshoot and resolve programming or machining issues during production runs to ensure quality.
Process Improvement:
Edit existing programs to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and tool life.
Collaboration:
Work with engineers and machinists to improve design for manufacturability (DFM).
Required Skills and Qualifications Experience:
Approximately 3 years of hands-on experience in CNC programming and setup.
Software Proficiency:
Strong proficiency in CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, or SolidCAM).
Technical Skills:
Proficient in reading and editing G-code/M-code.
Machining Knowledge:
Solid understanding of metallurgy, speeds/feeds, and tooling geometry.
Mathematics:
Strong aptitude for geometry and trigonometry.
Precision Measurement:
Ability to use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers).
