Our client is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer for a direct hire opportunity in Memphis, Michigan. We are actively recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled CNC professional with strong programming, setup, and machining experience, particularly with Swiss lathes and sliding head lathes. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands on CNC programming experience and the ability to take jobs from programming and setup through prove out and production. This position requires strong knowledge of tooling, G code, CAM software, tight tolerance machining, and process optimization. USA. RESPONSIBILITIES
Program and operate CNC Swiss lathes and sliding head lathesDevelop and optimize CNC programs using CAM software including Partmaker, Fusion 360, Mastercam, ESPRIT, or similar softwareSet up tooling, fixtures, workholding, offsets, and machine parametersProve out new jobs from initial setup through productionRead and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and GD&T requirementsDetermine proper tooling, speeds, feeds, offsets, and machining sequencesPerform G code edits and program adjustments at the machine as neededOptimize cycle times, surface finishes, tool life, and overall machining efficiencyMachine precision components while maintaining tight tolerancesWork with materials including aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and other metalsTroubleshoot CNC programming, tooling, setup, and machining issuesUse precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and CMM equipment to verify dimensional accuracyPerform routine machine and tooling maintenance as requiredWork closely with engineering to improve manufacturing processes, part design, quality, and production efficiencyUtilize CAD software such as SolidWorks or Fusion 360 to review, design, or modify parts as neededApply lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve productivityAssist and mentor other team members on CNC machining and programming best practices as neededMaintain accurate CNC programs and manufacturing documentationFollow established safety procedures, quality requirements, and company policiesQUALIFICATIONS5+ years of CNC programming and machining experience preferredStrong experience programming and operating CNC lathesExperience with Swiss lathes or sliding head lathes strongly prefer
