- Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Moldmaker to join our manufacturing team.
In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, repairing, and maintaining molds used in plastics injection molding processes. Your expertise will ensure the production of high-quality molds that meet precise specifications, supporting our commitment to manufacturing excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining equipment and cutting-edge CAD/CAM software in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Use Mastercam to program Electrodes to produce mold components. Fabricate, Repair and Maintain Molds. Interpret Cad Models to accurately fabricate and assemble molds Set up and operate CNC machining tools including CNC milling machines, surface grinders, a equipment to produce precise mold components Program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and verify tool paths for accuracy Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and precision measuring instruments to ensure parts meet strict quality standards Collaborate with design engineers using CAD software like SolidWorks or Mastercam to review designs and modify tooling as needed for manufacturing efficiency Requirements Proven experience in toolroom operations with a focus on plastics injection molding molds or similar tooling environments Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and schematics accurately Proficiency in CAD software (Mastercam and or Solidworks) Skilled in CNC programming (G-code), CAM programming, and operating CNC machinery including CNC lathe, milling machines, and surface grinders. Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to ensure precision in machining processes Knowledge of shop math principles essential for accurate measurements and calculations during fabrication Ability to use precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other gauges for quality control purposes Understanding of plastics injection molding processes and associated tooling requirements Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machining issues efficiently Excellent attention to detail combined with a proactive approach to maintenance and safety protocols
