Job Title:
CNC Swiss Programmer Job Description The CNC Swiss Programmer is responsible for programming, setting up, and optimizing Swiss-type CNC lathes to produce high-precision components. This role focuses on advanced Swiss machining processes, tooling strategies, troubleshooting, and quality inspection to consistently maintain tight tolerances and high production standards. The position requires strong expertise in machining challenging materials such as 303, 304, and 316 stainless steel, titanium, and Inconel, as well as the ability to develop efficient, optimized manufacturing processes. Responsibilities Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs for Swiss-type machines, including KSI, Star, and similar Swiss lathes. Develop precise and efficient toolpaths using Esprit CAD/CAM software. Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer requirements to plan and document machining processes. Select appropriate tooling, cutting parameters, and machining strategies to achieve accuracy, efficiency, and repeatability. Perform complete setups on CNC Swiss lathes, including installing and adjusting tooling, setting offsets, configuring bar feeders, and establishing proper workholding. Load, verify, and prove out CNC programs on Swiss machines prior to production. Complete thorough First Article Inspections (FAIs) to confirm part conformance and readiness for full production. Troubleshoot machining issues, adjust programs, and refine processes to maintain tight tolerances and high-quality standards. Optimize cycle times and machining methods for difficult materials such as 303, 304, and 316 stainless steel, titanium, and Inconel. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturability and ensure that parts meet customer specifications. Essential Skills At least 5+ years of hands-on experience in CNC Swiss setup and programming. Advanced proficiency in CNC programming using Fanuc controls and G-code. Strong experience programming and optimizing Swiss-type CNC lathes. Proficiency with Esprit CAD/CAM software for toolpath development. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and detailed customer requirements. Demonstrated expertise in setting up Swiss machines, including tooling, offsets, bar feeder setup, and work holding. Proven ability to perform and document First Article Inspections (FAIs). Strong understanding of machining difficult materials such as 303, 304, and 316 stainless steel, titanium, and Inconel. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with additional CAM platforms such as Mastercam. Experience in optimizing machining strategies for high-precision, tight-tolerance components. Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving machining, tooling, and quality issues. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality and consistency in production. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Lakeville, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $72000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
