Job Description

About TrueField Systems TrueField is an agriculture company built for on-farm solutions designed to scale from small specialty operations to commercial production. The company's product strategy spans hardware, AI-assisted automation, and field management tools, with solutions developed to be relevant across a range of farm sizes rather than optimized for a single segment. Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented CNC Manager to lead the stand-up of our manufacturing operations focused on precision machining. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the selection of equipment and hiring of CNC Programmers / Operators, and 'own' entire CNC machining process, ensuring high-quality production standards, optimizing machine efficiency, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Your expertise in CNC programming, tooling, and manufacturing best practices will drive operational excellence and support our commitment to delivering top-tier products. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a skilled team and implement innovative machining solutions that meet demanding industry standards. Duties Manage selection of CNC mills, lathes, and other equipment required to take us from zero to a world-class lights-out production capability for farm equipment. Develop, review, and optimize CNC programs using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as SolidWorks, OnShape, and Mastercam to ensure efficient production workflows. Lead the setup, calibration, and maintenance of CNC machines. Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve cycle times while maintaining high precision standards. Conduct regular inspections using precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and bore gauges to verify part accuracy against specifications. Train and supervise machinists on CNC programming techniques, tooling selection, geometry considerations, and safety protocols. Collaborate with design engineers utilizing CAD software to interpret schematics and translate design intent into manufacturable parts with optimal tooling strategies. Ensure compliance with industry standards for quality control and safety regulations while maintaining documentation for audits and process improvements. Experience Proven experience managing CNC machining operations within a manufacturing environment with a strong focus on precision parts production. Extensive knowledge of Fanuc controls or similar CNC controller systems for programming and troubleshooting. Proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, OnShape, AutoCAD, CATIA, Mastercam, etc. for designing parts and developing machining programs. Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, schematics, and mechanical drawings. Hands-on experience with CNC lathe and milling machines including setup, calibration, tooling selection, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus. Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste in machining workflows. Ability to operate precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other tools for quality assurance. Mechanical knowledge combined with math skills necessary for interpreting complex geometries and tolerances in manufacturing processes. Join us as a CNC Manager to lead innovative machining operations that set new standards for quality and efficiency!
