Position Summary We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support the manufacturing of precision components used in electric drone motors and propulsion systems. The CNC Programmer will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for machining operations including 5-axis milling, CNC lathes, turning centers, and multi-axis equipment . This position will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Machine Shop personnel to develop efficient and repeatable machining processes. The ideal candidate will have strong CNC programming experience, a solid understanding of machining practices and tooling, and the ability to manufacture precision components to tight tolerances. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain CNC programs for precision machined components. Program 5-axis CNC mills, CNC lathes, turning centers, and multi-axis equipment . Develop efficient machining strategies, toolpaths, setups, and workholding methods. Review engineering drawings, CAD models, tolerances, and manufacturing requirements. Determine tooling, speeds, feeds, cutting parameters, and machining sequences. Support CNC machine setup, prove-out, and first-piece production.
Optimize existing programs to improve:
Cycle time Tool life Part quality Machine utilization Scrap and rework Make program revisions and adjustments based on production and inspection results. Troubleshoot machining, tooling, programming, and dimensional issues. Work with Quality personnel to ensure machined components meet drawing and inspection requirements. Support first article inspection and new product introduction activities. Develop and maintain setup sheets, tooling lists, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation. Support fixture and workholding development. Assist CNC operators with technical questions, setups, offsets, and machining issues. Support continuous improvement and manufacturing cost-reduction activities. Maintain revision control of CNC programs and related manufacturing documentation. Follow company quality procedures and manufacturing controls. Minimum Qualifications Previous experience programming CNC machining equipment in a production manufacturing environment. Experience programming CNC mills and/or CNC lathes . Strong knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and workholding. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T, dimensions, and tolerances. Experience using precision measuring equipment such as: Micrometers / Calipers / Height gauges / Bore gauges / Indicators. Ability to troubleshoot machining and dimensional problems. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability. Ability to work effectively with operators, engineers, and quality personnel. Preferred Qualifications Experience programming 5-axis CNC machining centers . Experience programming multi-axis lathes or mill-turn equipment. Experience with Mazak CNC machines . Experience with Mazatrol programming . Experience with CAD/CAM programming software such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, Esprit, GibbsCAM, or similar systems. Experience with offline CNC programming and simulation. Experience machining aluminum, stainless steel, steel, and other precision materials. Experience designing or developing machining fixtures and workholding. Experience with prototype and high-volume production machining. Experience in aerospace, defense, electric motor, automotive, or other precision manufacturing industries. Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems is a plus. Work Environment This position works in a precision manufacturing environment supporting the production of electric drone motors and propulsion systems. The CNC Programmer will work closely with CNC operators, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, and Quality to transition parts from engineering designs into stable and efficient production processes.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
