: 2015 certified. The focus of this position is to produce accurate and optimal CNC programs as well as set up and perform production for those products. This role requires a deep understanding of multi-axis milling and turning, tight tolerance machining, and the ability to interpret complex blueprints and GD&T specifications. Additionally, this role will be responsible for developing, writing, and optimizing CNC programs in an AS9100 machining facility in accordance with internal policies and procedures as well as customer requirements. Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize Esprit CAM software to produce highly complex CNC programs.
  • Select and implement cutting tools, fixtures, and automation solutions to enhance machining capabilities.
  • Set up and operate CNC 3, 4, and 5 axis lathes and mills.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, customer specifications, and GD&T callouts.
  • Perform offsets, tool changes, and part inspections throughout the machining process.
  • Verify parts using precision measurement tools (micrometers, dial bore gages, indicators, etc.).
  • Monitor machining operations and make real-time adjustments to ensure part conformance.
  • Machine materials such as titanium, Inconel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Perform in-process checks and support first article inspections (FAIs).
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation in accordance with AS9100 standards.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Monitor machine maintenance and conduct preventative maintenance on a regular basis.
  • Work to optimize CNC programs for cycle time reduction and extend tool life.
  • Collaborate with OEM manufacturers and tooling representatives to ensure the adoption of cutting-edge technologies.
  • Active participation in Lean Manufacturing initiatives including but not limited to 5/6S, Setup Reduction, Visual Management, Cellular Manufacturing Required Qualifications
  • Must be prepared to work in a challenging but positive environment of high accountability focused on process ownership, continuous learning and clear standards.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in CNC programming and machine setup without supervision.
  • Expertise in Esprit or equivalent CAM software.
  • Strong experience in 4 and 5-axis milling.
  • Ability to produce methods of machining operation and fixtures from scratch.
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T, blueprints, and manufacturing drawings.
  • Knowledge of tooling, speeds/feeds, work holding, and machining strategy
  • Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, comparators, thread plug gauges, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and accountable
  • Experience with tool selection, fixture design, and machining process optimization.
