Job Description

Build What's Next Are you an experienced CNC Programmer who enjoys solving complex machining challenges, working with tight-tolerance components, and seeing your programs come to life on the shop floor? Our client a long-standing, successful, and rapidly growing precision machining company supporting the aerospace and defense industries. As we enter our next phase of growth, we've invested in a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility designed to support advanced machining, modern production capabilities, and continued expansion. We're looking for a highly experienced Senior CNC Programmer / CNC Programmer III who can bring strong technical expertise, sound machining judgment, and a hands-on approach to our growing team. This is an opportunity to have a meaningful impact on how we program, prove out, optimize, and manufacture complex components — while working alongside experienced machinists, engineers, and quality professionals in a collaborative environment. If you take pride in writing exceptional programs, solving difficult machining problems, and getting parts right the first time, we'd like to talk with you. What You'll Do As a Senior CNC Programmer, you'll take ownership of programming and process development for complex, high-precision components. You'll work closely with machinists, engineering, and quality from programming through prove-out and production. Develop CNC programs using Mastercam for complex multi-axis mills and/or advanced CNC lathes. Develop complete machining strategies from engineering drawings, 3D models, specifications, and customer requirements. Program complex, tight-tolerance aerospace and defense components with a strong focus on quality, repeatability, and efficiency. Select appropriate tooling, workholding, cutting strategies, speeds, feeds, and machining sequences. Support CNC setups, prove-outs, first-article runs, and production implementation directly on the shop floor. Work hands-on with machinists to troubleshoot machining challenges and refine processes. Lead prove-outs and optimize programs for cycle time, tool life, surface finish, and overall process stability. Review programs and manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement before production. Collaborate closely with Engineering and Quality to ensure components are manufactured correctly and efficiently. Help establish and maintain programming standards, CAM best practices, tooling strategies, and process documentation. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less-experienced programmers and machinists. Troubleshoot difficult machining, programming, tooling, and process issues. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives as the company expands its capabilities and capacity. Help drive programming and manufacturing standards throughout the organization. What You'll Bring Extensive professional CNC programming experience, preferably in a high-precision aerospace, defense, or similarly demanding manufacturing environment. Strong proficiency with Mastercam. Advanced experience programming complex CNC mills, multi-axis machining centers, and/or complex CNC lathes. Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, workholding, cutting strategies, speeds and feeds, and material behavior. Ability to independently develop machining strategies from engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, and specifications. Strong ability to read and interpret GD&T, blueprints, and technical documentation. Hands-on experience supporting machinists through setups, prove-outs, first-article production, and troubleshooting. Demonstrated ability to optimize programs for accuracy, efficiency, cycle time, tool life, and surface finish. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality parts consistently. Ability to work collaboratively with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions. Experience working within ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems is highly preferred. Aerospace and defense manufacturing experience is preferred. Senior-Level Expectations As a senior member of the programming team, this is an opportunity to take ownership of complex jobs, lead prove-outs, solve difficult machining problems, and help establish the processes and standards that support our continued growth. We're looking for someone who can bring experience, initiative, and technical leadership to the shop floor — someone who doesn't just program the part, but understands how to make the entire process better. Why Join Us? We're growing, investing, and building for the future. You'll have the opportunity to work in a new, modern, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility with a team focused on producing high-quality, complex components for demanding aerospace and defense applications. We value people who take ownership of their work, solve problems, support their teammates, and continually look for ways to improve. This is an opportunity to join a company where your experience can have a direct impact on our next stage of growth.
