Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to support the efficient and high-quality production of precision components. This role involves working with both manual and CNC machinery to manufacture parts according to specifications, ensuring accuracy, safety, and adherence to production timelines. Key Responsibilities Operate machine tools to produce precision parts based on prints and specifications Set up and operate mills, lathes, grinders, saws, and related equipment Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes (experience with GibbsCAM is a plus) Modify parts and materials to improve production efficiency Perform routine maintenance on machinery Inspect parts to ensure dimensional accuracy and tolerance compliance Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and verniers Prepare finished parts for shipment Maintain a clean and safe work environment Follow project schedules to meet production deadlines Complete work efficiently with a focus on quality and minimizing waste Adhere to all workplace safety standards and company policies Qualifications Previous experience in machining or a related field required Strong familiarity with machine tools and manufacturing equipment Ability to operate both manual and CNC machinery Proficiency in machining processes, tools, and operations Experience producing parts with tight tolerances (up to ±0.0005) Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including GD&T symbols Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to review drawings and recommend improvements for manufacturability Experience with 4-axis and 5-axis CNC machining preferred Comfortable working in a shop environment Ability to operate manual and powered lifting equipment Personal tools are a plus Education & Experience Associate's degree in Machining Technologies or a related field with 3+ years of experience OR 5+ years of prototype machining experience OR Completion of a Journeyperson program with 3+ years of experience Additional Requirements Ability to complete parts from start to finish independently Strong commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency #INDW3
