Job Description

CNC Programmer/Detailer Shamrock Metals Las Vegas, NV Job Details 1 day ago Qualifications CNC programming Bluebeam Mid-level Blueprint reading Organizational skills Autodesk Inventor Manufacturing Associate's degree Sheet metal Drafting 2 years Manufacturing company experience File organization Full Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Shamrock Metals is looking for a Detailer / CNC Programmer with strong AutoCAD skills and a working knowledge of fabrication principles. You will split your time between shop drawing production and CNC programming. On the detailing side, you will work in AutoCAD and Inventor to produce 2D and 3D drawings, add dimensions and fabrication notes, and collaborate on drawing packages. On the CNC side, you will learn to program the FLOW waterjet and develop flat pattern stretch-outs for brake, shear, and V-groove operations. These are skills we will teach, but you need to come in understanding how to read drawings, work in CAD, and translate design intent into production documentation. You will work closely with the shop floor and see how your drawings and cut files become finished product. That exposure will sharpen your judgment and help you understand what separates a clean drawing from one that causes problems downstream. You will thrive here if you are technically competent, take ownership of your work, and want to deepen your skills in a custom fabrication environment where precision matters.

DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITIES
Shop Drawing Production Produce nesting, cut files, and drawings using AutoCAD and Inventor. Read and interpret architectural drawings. Translate design intent into production-ready shop drawings. Add dimensions, callouts, material specifications, and fabrication notes to drawing packages. Use Bluebeam for markup, redlines, and document coordination. Maintain organized project files and follow established drawing standards. CNC Programming Learn to program the FLOW waterjet, including part nesting and toolpath setup. Develop flat pattern stretch-outs for brake, shear, and V-groove operations. Coordinate with shop floor personnel to verify cut file accuracy and resolve issues before production. Maintain organized file structures and naming conventions for cut files and stretch-outs. Coordination and Collaboration Work closely with the shop floor to understand how drawings and cut files translate into fabricated parts and assemblies. Flag issues or conflicts in drawings rather than guessing. Surface problems early. Take feedback constructively and apply it to improve the quality and accuracy of your work. An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position. The above list reflects the general details necessary to describe the principle and essential functions of the position and shall not be construed as the only duties that may be assigned for the position.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency in AutoCAD. You must be able to produce accurate 2D drawings without supervision on day one. Ability to read and interpret architectural and fabrication drawings. 2+ years of experience in a drafting, detailing, or technical role related to fabrication, manufacturing, or construction. Strong attention to detail. Small errors in drawings or cut files create big problems on the shop floor. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with Autodesk Inventor or other 3D modeling software. Familiarity with CNC programming concepts, nesting software, or flat pattern development. Experience with Bluebeam or similar markup and document coordination tools. Background in architectural metals, structural steel, sheet metal, or a related custom fabrication trade.
