Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Programmer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in programming and technical skills, with a focus on enhancing our manufacturing processes. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can effectively collaborate with various departments to ensure high-quality production standards. The functions of an Engineer within the NC Programming Department will be performed under the supervision of the Director of Manufacturing Engineering and/or the Manager of NC Programming. Duties Preparation and development of numerical programs used to drive NC/CNC tools, including the selection of cutting tools, considering factors such as spee feeds,s and control system limitations.
- Selects program routines for the most efficient computer calculation of dimensional and machining requirements for each part.
- Preparation and development of holding fixtures to be used for manufacturing.
- Continually evaluate CNC programs as needed to ensure program accuracy.
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) software, preferably Catia V5, to create 3D models from 2D drawings.
- Generate CAD drawings and product structures to match and clearly communicate customer requirements accurately.
- Resolve problems utilizing acquired knowledge and analytical abilities
- Communicate with all co-workers and shifts
- Clean and maintain a safe work area
- Complete all tasks assigned by the direct supervisor
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and smell. Must have close visual acuity such as viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving minor defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines, and/or assembly or fabrication parts at close distance to eyes.
Skills / Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of NC Programming Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience running 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC machines
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel, Catia V5.
- Excellent problem-solving, multi-tasking, and communication skills are a must.
- Understanding of GD&T and
ASME Y14.5
is a plus
- Ability to work with an ERP system (Organization is currently working with Vantage by Epicor).
