Position Summary We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer / Operator to join our machine shop team. This position is responsible for programming, setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC machines to produce high-quality parts that meet production and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong machining experience, the ability to interpret engineering drawings, and a solid understanding of CNC programming principles. Key Responsibilities Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to create basic CNC programs and determine appropriate cutting speeds and feeds. Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines to ensure quality and productivity standards are met. Verify the accuracy of new job setups and inspect completed parts to confirm conformance to specifications. Troubleshoot machining and quality issues, including identifying root causes of out-of-tolerance conditions. Assist in resolving complex CNC machine operating problems. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production, machining, and quality concerns. Train and mentor new employees on machine setup, operation, and departmental procedures. Support production needs by operating machines as required and providing coverage during employee absences. Perform additional duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations. QualificationsRequired Education High School Diploma or GED required. Required Experience Minimum of 3-5 years of experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment. Basic CNC programming experience required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of CNC machine operation, setup, and programming concepts. Advanced proficiency in the use of precision measuring instruments, including: Calipers ID and OD micrometers Depth gauges Indicators Tape measures Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications. Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Working knowledge of tooling, including tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, and inserts. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain quality standards while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
