The Role We're looking for a CNC Programmer to turn drawings and 3D models into proven, efficient CNC programs. You'll work mainly in CNC software, with regular time on the floor proving out new jobs. You'll work closely with engineering, machinists, and setup techs to get good parts on the first run. What You'll Do Program in CAM. Build toolpaths for our CNC mills and lathes from drawings and 3D models using Fusion 360, Mastercam, or similar. Simulate and post. Verify toolpaths in simulation, post clean G-code, and catch collisions before they reach the machine. Prove out new jobs. Support first-article runs at the machine, make edits at the control, and hand off repeatable jobs to production. Create setup documentation. Write setup sheets, tool lists, and operator instructions for every job. Manage program files. Keep the program library organized, named consistently, and version-controlled. Plan tooling and work holding. Choose tools, feeds, speeds, and fixtures that cut cycle time and scrap. Support quoting and engineering. Estimate cycle times for quotes. Give engineering design-for-manufacturing feedback on drawings and models. Improve existing programs. Optimize older programs to run faster, safer, and more consistently. Keep it safe. Follow safe practices on the floor and at the machine. What You Bring 3+ years of CNC programming experience using CAM software. Strong skills in Fusion 360, Mastercam, or similar CAM software. Fusion 360 is a plus. Working knowledge of G-code and M-code. Able to read and edit programs at the control. Experience programming both CNC mills and lathes. Able to read blueprints and 3D models, including GD&T. Familiar with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators). Clear communicator who works well with machinists and engineers. High school diploma or equivalent. Nice to Have Multi-axis (4th/5th axis) or live-tooling lathe programming. Hands-on CNC setup and operating experience. Fixture design experience. Machining valve bodies, fittings, or other pressure-containing parts. Experience with ERP systems (we use M1) for quoting. Technical degree or certificate in CNC machining or manufacturing. Working Conditions Mostly at a programming workstation, with regular time on the production floor. Exposure to machining noise, coolant, and varying temperatures. Standing for long periods, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
