They support demanding industries, including the semiconductor sector, and are known for taking on complex projects where precision, problem-solving, and craftsmanship matter. This is an opportunity for an experienced machinist who wants more than simply running production. The right person will have the opportunity to take ownership of complex projects, work directly with engineers, troubleshoot machining challenges, mentor less-experienced machinists, and contribute to process improvements. What You'll Do Set up and operate 5-Axis CNC mills to produce flat, contoured, and formed parts to precise metric and inch specifications Set up CNC machines, including loading programs, tooling, fixtures, and tool offsets Read and interpret engineered drawings, including metric, decimal, and fractional measurements Machine a variety of plastics, including WPP, NPP, FRPP, polycarbonate, PVC, acrylic, UHMW, Delrin, PTFE, PFA, and PVDF, as well as various metals Machine parts to tolerances as tight as .005" Serve as a technical resource regarding tooling, machining capabilities, and processes Evaluate and recommend new tooling and machining processes Troubleshoot programming, tooling, material, and machining issues Communicate issues related to work orders, programming errors, material shortages, or material discrepancies Work directly with engineers regarding part design and provide recommendations for corrective action Take ownership of larger projects from setup through completion Perform R&D machining work as directed Document redlines and process changes as required Perform minor preventive maintenance on equipment Maintain and inspect tooling and fixtures Use precision inspection equipment to measure and verify dimensions to thousandths Accurately track labor time for job costing and production purposes Mentor and train Machinists I, II, and III Demonstrate strong judgment and decision-making when working through complex machining challenges Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Promote and follow all company safe
