Job Description

This role is responsible for creating, editing, and optimizing CNC programs for machining operations. The ideal candidate understands prints, tolerances, tooling, setup requirements, and how to support operators on the production floor. This is not just a desk programming position. The CNC Programmer must be able to communicate with machinists, troubleshoot production issues, and help improve cycle times, setup accuracy, and part quality. Key Responsibilities Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs for mills, lathes, or machining centers. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications. Select proper tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies. Support machine setup, first-piece runs, and production adjustments. Troubleshoot programming, tooling, fixture, and machining issues. Work with operators, quality personnel, and supervisors to maintain production flow. Review part requirements before release to production. Help reduce scrap, rework, setup time, and cycle time. Maintain accurate program records and revision control. Follow all safety, quality, and shop procedures. Requirements CNC programming experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment. Ability to read blueprints and understand tolerances. Experience with G-code editing and CNC machine controls. Familiarity with mills, lathes, machining centers, tooling, and fixtures. CAM software experience preferred. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work with production teams in a fast-paced shop environment. Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and safety-minded. Preferred Experience Mastercam, Fusion 360, GibbsCAM, SolidWorks CAM, or similar software. Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Siemens, or similar controls. Experience with short-run, custom, or precision manufacturing. Knowledge of GD&T and inspection requirements.
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
