Job Description

This position is responsible for creating, editing, and improving CNC programs for mill and lathe operations. The right candidate must understand machining processes, blueprints, tooling, tolerances, and the reality of production floor work. This role is ideal for someone who can do more than write a program. We need someone who can help solve problems, support machine setups, communicate with operators, and improve how parts are produced. Key Responsibilities Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs for mills and lathes. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, tolerances, and specifications. Work with G-code, CAM software, tooling, fixtures, speeds, and feeds. Support operators during setup, first-piece runs, and production adjustments. Troubleshoot programming, tooling, setup, and machining issues. Review parts and processes before release to production. Help reduce scrap, rework, setup time, and cycle time. Communicate with supervisors, operators, and quality personnel. Maintain accurate program revisions and production documentation. Follow all shop safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures. Requirements Previous CNC programming experience. Experience with CNC mills, lathes, or machining centers. Ability to read blueprints and understand tolerances. Knowledge of tooling, fixtures, speeds, feeds, and machining processes. Ability to edit G-code. CAM software experience preferred. Strong problem-solving skills. Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and production-minded. Preferred Experience Mastercam, Fusion 360, GibbsCAM, SolidWorks CAM, or similar software. Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Siemens, or similar controls. GD&T knowledge. Experience supporting both programming and setup. Experience in precision machining, custom parts, or industrial manufacturing.
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
