As a CNC Programmer, you will develop and verify CNC programs, troubleshoot machining processes, support manufacturing operations, and implement improvements to safety, quality, cost, and delivery. This is a contract opportunity with an 18-month assignment and potential for direct hire. Benefits Package Health insurance On-the-job training Uniform allowance Shift Information 1st Shift | Monday - Friday | 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree, associate's degree, or completion of a Machinist Apprenticeship (or similar program), plus 3 years of experience with graphical-based CAM system CNC programming; OR High school diploma with 6 years of experience with graphics-based CAM system CNC programming Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Machine Tool Technology Experience with Siemens NX CAM (version 1953 or later) Experience creating 5-axis CNC programs using a CAM system Minimum of 1 year of experience with high-level machine tool controls, including subroutine (macro), Renishaw probing routines, and variable-based programming Experience machining high-temperature superalloys found in Heavy-Duty Gas Turbine (HDGT) or aerospace components Experience programming large Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL), Vertical Boring Mills (VBM), and Horizontal Boring Mills (HBM) Experience with creep-feed grinding Experience with sinker EDM, wire EDM, and fast-hole drilling EDM Experience with Vericut (preferred) or other CNC verification and machine simulation software Experience with large precision grinding applications General Requirements Ability to safely operate machinery, including machine setup and first-piece prove-out Strong problem-solving and organizational skills Above-average shop mathematics skills, including geometry and trigonometry Strong familiarity with multiple machine controls, including Fanuc, Haas, Okuma, Siemens, and G&L Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting engineering drawing requirements Ability to multitask and productively manage multiple projects concurrently Effective communication skills when coordinating with appropriate team members Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based, matrixed organization Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while embracing and driving positive organizational change Essential Functions Develop and maintain CNC programs using Siemens NX CAM or other CAM software for multi-axis milling, turning, grinding, and/or electrical discharge machining (EDM). Verify new CNC programs using Vericut before releasing them to the shop floor. Support Manufacturing Engineers (M.E.) with CNC programming and machining-related activities. Train machine operators during new or rebuilt machine startups and process improvement initiatives. Provide daily CNC programming and troubleshooting support to shop floor operators. Support and implement tooling and fixturing requirements associated with CNC machine tools. Develop and maintain workstation instructions and machining methods for CNC-related processes. Initiate and lead process improvement projects to improve manufacturing safety, quality, cost, and delivery. Communicate effectively with appropriate team members to support manufacturing operations and process improvements.
