Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Laser/Bend Cell Programmer and Process Management Specialist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and optimizing CNC laser cutting and bending processes to ensure high-quality production. You will lead process improvements, troubleshoot machining issues, and collaborate cross-functionally to enhance efficiency and precision. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced manufacturing equipment, including CNC laser cutters, bending machines, and related tooling, while applying your technical expertise in CAD/CAM programming and process control. Your proactive approach will drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with lean manufacturing principles. Responsibilities Develop and optimize CNC laser cutting and bending programs using CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, and other relevant tools. Set up CNC laser and bend cells, ensuring proper machine calibration, tooling selection, and process parameters for maximum efficiency and quality. Troubleshoot machining issues related to laser cutting, bending, or tooling to minimize downtime and scrap. Monitor production processes using precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and schematics to ensure adherence to specifications. Implement lean manufacturing principles by identifying waste reduction opportunities and streamlining workflows within the CNC machining environment. Collaborate with design engineers on blueprint reading, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and schematic interpretation to ensure manufacturability. Maintain detailed documentation of process parameters, tooling setups, calibration records, and quality inspections for compliance and continuous improvement. Requirements Proven experience programming CNC laser cutters (Fanuc controls preferred) and CNC bending machines in a manufacturing setting. Strong proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA or equivalent for designing and modifying parts. Hands-on knowledge of CAM programming for CNC milling machines and CNC lathes. Familiarity with lean manufacturing methodologies to optimize processes efficiently. Excellent understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, mechanical drawings, schematics, and precision measurement techniques. Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM), tooling selection, geometry calculations, and mechanical principles relevant to sheet metal fabrication. Ability to operate precision measuring instruments including bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), bore gauges, bore gauges or similar tools. Strong math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and process adjustments. Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members across engineering, production planning, and quality assurance departments. Join us in shaping the future of manufacturing by leveraging your technical expertise in CNC programming and process management! Your dedication will help us deliver precise components efficiently while fostering a culture of continuous improvement driven by innovation and excellence.
