JOB PROFILE SUMMARY
The CNC Specialist is responsible for the setup, programming, and operation of CNC machines to produce precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and quality standards. The CNC Specialist works closely with engineering and production teams to ensure parts are manufactured to exact specifications and delivered on time.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
The individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the job duties listed below. Set up and operate CNC machines including mills, lathes, and EDM equipment. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine machining operations. Create and modify CNC programs using G-code and CAM software. Monitor machining operations and make adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC equipment. Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specifications. Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues. Maintain accurate records of production and machine maintenance.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience:
5+ or more years of related experience Knowledge of the injection mold building and injection molding is a plus. Extensive experience with CNC machining operations, including setup, programming, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with various materials such as steel, aluminum, and plastics. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
Education:
Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology or completion of a certified CNC machining program. Certification in CNC Machining or equivalent trade certification preferred. Experience with CAD/CAM software and CNC programming tools such as Mastercam or Fusion 360.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and working with machinery. Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for precision work.
