Job Description

The Aircraft Painter is responsible for preparing aircraft surfaces, applying paint systems and topcoat finishes, and performing aircraft finishing activities in accordance with aerospace quality and safety standards. This role requires expertise in surface preparation, spray painting, and the use of sanding and finishing equipment while working in elevated environments and following strict PPE and certification requirements. Must-Have Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent 4+ years of industrial or aircraft painting experience Advanced knowledge of surface preparation techniques Experience applying paint systems and topcoat finishes Proficient with spray equipment, mechanical sanders, buffers, and hand tools Ability to work at heights, overhead, and perform repetitive tasks Ability to obtain respirator clearance, pulmonary function testing, and aluminum pretreatment certification Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English Responsibilities Prepare aircraft surfaces for painting using approved surface preparation methods. Apply aircraft paint systems and topcoat finishes to required quality standards. Operate spray equipment, mechanical sanders, buffers, and other paint-related tools. Perform paint and finishing work on elevated aircraft surfaces, including overhead tasks. Handle paints, adhesives, resins, and other coating materials safely. Follow work instructions, quality requirements, and aerospace safety procedures. Maintain required certifications, respirator clearance, and PPE compliance. Support quality inspections and ensure finished surfaces meet customer and engineering specifications. Preferred Qualifications Aerospace or aircraft paint experience Experience applying aircraft topcoat finishes and aluminum pretreatment Scissor lift and boom lift certifications Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and quality assurance principles Advanced proficiency with paint application and surface preparation equipment #
GRPA Pay:
$30.00 - $32.00 per hour People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply
