Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Thermal Metal Spray Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying protective and functional coatings to metal components using advanced thermal spray techniques. Your expertise will ensure high-quality finishes that meet strict industry standards, contributing to the durability and performance of our products. Duties Operate thermal spray equipment to apply metal coatings accurately according to production specifications and quality standards. Prepare surfaces through cleaning, sanding, or surface preparation techniques such as construction painting surface preparation before coating application. Use hand tools, power tools, spray guns, and machining tools to set up and maintain equipment. Handle materials safely using forklifts, cranes, or other warehouse equipment while adhering strictly to safety protocols and PPE use. Conduct visual comparisons and inspect finished coatings for consistency, quality, and adherence to specifications. Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment, perform routine maintenance on spray guns and machinery, and document production activities accurately. Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency while ensuring safety protocols are upheld at all times. Assist in fabrication or assembly tasks as needed, supporting overall manufacturing operations. Qualifications Proven experience operating thermal spray systems. Knowledge of coating materials, and surface preparation. Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and production documents effectively. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welding, machining, and fabrication processes. Ability to use precision measuring instruments and perform basic math calculations for quality control purposes. Experience with forklift operation, or warehouse experience is preferred but not mandatory. Strong adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements including respirators and respiratory protection devices; commitment to safety protocol adherence at all times. Ability to work efficiently in a team environment while maintaining high safety standards in a fast-paced setting. Must be able to pass a respirator fit test.
