Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Powder Coating Painter for a direct hire opportunity in Santa Ana, CA. This role is ideal for a hands-on manufacturing professional with experience in industrial painting, metal finishing, fabrication, or powder coating who takes pride in producing clean, consistent, high-quality finishes. As a Powder Coating Painter, you will support a sheet metal fabrication production team by preparing metal parts, applying powder coatings, operating coating equipment, and inspecting finished products. This position offers the opportunity to work in a stable production environment where safety, teamwork, attention to detail, and quality craftsmanship are highly valued. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare steel, aluminum, and other metal components for powder coating by following established surface preparation procedures.
- Apply powder coating to metal products while maintaining consistent coverage, thickness, and finish quality.
- Operate powder coating equipment and adjust air pressure, spray settings, and related controls as needed.
- Inspect finished parts for defects, consistency, appearance, and compliance with production standards.
- Follow work instructions, job travelers, production documentation, and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while handling coating materials properly. Compensation and Benefits
Pay:
$25 to $27 per hour. Required Qualifications and Skills- Prepare and coat sheet metal components for production finishing.
- Operate powder coating and spray equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Inspect coated parts to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to specifications.
- Follow production documentation, work instructions, and safety standards.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant manufacturing, fabrication, industrial painting, or production experience.
- Powder coating experience preferred, with knowledge of coating application processes.
- Experience using spray equipment and adjusting air pressure settings.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions and production documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, quality, and consistency.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety, cleanliness, and proper material handling. Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience applying powder coating to steel, aluminum, or sheet metal components.
- Experience in a sheet metal fabrication or metal finishing environment.
- Familiarity with quality inspection standards for painted or coated metal products.
