Eddie Ph # 909-680-8532 About Us RMD Collision is a trusted auto body and collision repair shop dedicated to delivering high-quality repairs and paint finishes. We're looking for an experienced Paint Helper to join our growing team in Santa Fe Springs. Job Summary The Paint Helper will support our paint department by preparing vehicles for painting, assisting painters throughout the refinishing process, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe paint shop environment. The ideal candidate has hands-on collision repair or body shop experience and a strong understanding of surface preparation and paint processes. Key Responsibilities Prepare vehicle surfaces for paint, including sanding, masking, and taping Assist lead painters with mixing, blending, and applying paint and primer Buff, polish, and detail vehicles after paint application Clean and maintain spray booths, equipment, and work areas Inspect finished work for quality and consistency Handle minor body filler and prep work as needed Follow all safety procedures and proper use of PPE Maintain inventory of paint supplies and materials Support the paint team to keep production on schedule Requirements Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive paint, collision repair, or body shop environment Solid understanding of paint prep, masking, and finishing techniques Experience with sanders, buffers, and spray equipment Ability to identify paint defects and quality issues Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player Valid driver's license preferred Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods Preferred Qualifications Formal training or certification in automotive refinishing (I-CAR, ASE, or similar) Familiarity with major paint brands (PPG, Sherwin-Williams, Axalta, etc.) Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus How to Apply Interested candidates should [submit a resume / apply in person / contact info] at RMD Collision, Santa Fe Springs, CA.
