Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Painter Helper to join our dynamic Mega Yacht Refit and Renovation Team. In this role, you will assist experienced painters in preparing surfaces, handling tools, and applying professional marine paints and coatings. Your enthusiasm for craftsmanship, safety awareness, reliability, and eagerness to learn will contribute to delivering the high-quality finishes expected in the mega yacht industry. Compensation & Work Arrangement Weekly pay Perfect Attendance Bonus for team members who meet attendance and punctuality requirements Consistent attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential Duties Assist with surface preparation, including sanding, scraping, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Support the application of paint, stains, coatings, and finishes using brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless and conventional spray equipment), and other hand or power tools. Help set up scaffolding, ladders, and work platforms safely to access high or hard-to-reach areas. Interpret color schemes to accurately execute painting tasks. Maintain a clean and organized work area by properly storing tools and disposing of debris following safety regulations. Follow all safety protocols, including the use of respiratory protection, gloves, eye protection, and adherence to OSHA standards. Support the team in surface repairs and fixture removal and installation when needed. Assist with mixing paints and coatings according to manufacturer specifications while ensuring color consistency through visual comparison. Participate in site inspections and quality-control activities to ensure surfaces are properly prepared before painting begins. Experience Prior experience working on yachts, shipyards, construction sites, or renovation projects is highly preferred. Hands-on experience with painting techniques, including brush painting, roller painting, spray painting (airless or conventional), and coating application is desirable. Knowledge of safety regulations related to painting and construction environments, including respiratory protection practices, is a plus. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to surface areas or paint quantities are required.
